New Year – New Resolution

My new year’s resolution is to work smarter and play more.

Running my own business has been one of the most rewarding yet challenging tasks I have ever undertaken. Last year was a BIG year. I turned 30, moved back to the Bay Area and launched Nectar Essences. I also survived the process of divorce, which led me through a intense emotional journey. Divorce is a very private matter and one that is a very specific experience for each person who goes through it. I’ve spoken with many people who have gone through it and they tend to all agree  that divorce is a difficult process.

I believe I grew more through the experience and had a very gentle process because I had access to flower essences for emotional support. I also have the most supportive family and friends who supported me in every way they knew how. I was also one of those lucky people who has an ex who is an amazing person and who still remains a good friend. Nevertheless, there were some hard moments. Ok. I admit it. There were a lot of hard moments.

Yet each one of those difficult moments came with double the joy, triple the laughter, and tons of personal growth. I am grateful for the growth I experienced in 2008.

So, what’s the story for 2009?  Well, 2008 was the year of growing Nectar Essences.  The hard work has started to pay off and I am grateful for the positive response to Nectar Essences. Now I’ve gotten to a point where the demands of the business are only increasing by the day & I am seeking balance and hoping for lighter and more fun filled days ahead.

A couple of days ago, good friend recommended the book ” Getting Things Done” by David Allen (www.gettingthingsdone.com). This couldn’t have come at a better time because the book completely supports my resolution of work hard, play harder. I highly recommend it for anyone who is needing to be more efficient with their time and energy.

Here’s wishing you a wonderful New Year! Cheers!
